Re: Forum Adjustments
Track day is getting to be a real dog's breakfast, and in fact it is getting increasingly frustrating to find things in general.
Can I suggest that based on usage we could look at doing something like
Open Wheelers: with 2 sub forums F1 and other open wheelers (and maybe F1, IRL, Euro and other open wheelers)
Aussie racing: with 3 sub forums, V8SC, Other tin tops, Sports GT etc.
Rally:
Ovals: NASCAR, Speedway, and IRL if not in open wheelers
Bikes:
History:
Technical Industry and business:
Straight Line Motorsport: Drags, Record attempts etc.

Nice idea - although I think I'd like to see maybe two main subforums under a thing like F1 - News & History.
I'd also like to see a category something like "Drivers / Riders" where we can put info on the various heroes that are scattered so rarely around the sport..
Oh and a spotty thing for historic races 'cause I'm going and taking my camera!

Re: Forum Adjustments
Subs are only created if they will be used. Track Day is something we are constantly reviewing to see if something can be plucked out and placed into its own section.
We will have a look back into it to see what can be done. Separating into broader categories of tin tops, Australian, open wheelers etc is probably far fetched for a forum of this size and would ultimately be confusing when things fall into multiple categories but can only be placed in one (eg Australian Formula Ford... open wheelers or aussie?) bathurst 12 hour (aussie or sports cars?) etc.

ALONSO, he survives scandals 'coz he's the only Spaniard.
ALONSO, turns out the rules don't matter but does that even bother you?
ALONSO, didn't he once whinge F1's not a sport, ALONSO.

Btw thanks for taking the time to air suggestions as it does make it easier for us to decide on future direction and modifications for us all to perhaps enjoy it more.

Fixed
So there is no confusion, The V8 SC forum remains for the V8SC discussion, and the Australian Domestic is for all other 'local' series.

Re: Forum Adjustments
Great Idea. The way I see it is that it could also be used for industry discussion, (what the car manufacturers are doing) and road car developments. Great place to float ideas and theories.
Thanks for the Trackday split, the Oz/International split is a good way of doing it.

I voted I'd only read it - but that's only 'cause I don't know I'm that technical. I'll certainly be asking questions..

I would classify asking questions as participating.

Im with OT in that it could be used to post on technical issues covering racing and road car stuff as well. That of course also covers the all important areas of Eco friendliness that we will all like it or not become more aware of. KERS, although not currently an F1 issue is starting to be incorporated in road cars, with news like the Williams F1 and Porsche collaboration to produce the new GT3 Porsche roadcar.
In short it covers a huge area of interest to even those who dont understand it. We have some good members here with excellent technical knowledge who would be happy to share the knowledge in laymans terms.
Its also a great area to discuss things when the racing seasons are a bit dry on news. Im in favour and will contribute where I can, be it asking those more learned than I or putting in my
worth.Guess which way I voted!
